The laboratory was established in January 2020. The research topic of the laboratory is a continuation of the research carried out in the laboratory of controlled power transmission and the laboratory of modeling and diagnostics of equipment in the areas of: the development of new technologies for controlling the regimes of energy systems, the development of methods for assessing, modeling and monitoring energy security, modeling elements of energy systems and operating modes of their functional elements, including in the field of: converting electrical energy, improving the efficiency of photovoltaic sources, power lines and means of regulation by them, other innovative technical solutions to improve energy efficiency in the energy sector.
The tasks of the laboratory are:
- development of methods for assessing the energy security of a country, region, territory, taking into account their characteristics;
- development of a specialized information system for analysis and monitoring, forecasts of the level of energy security and its indicators;
- modeling of energy security indicators and scenarios of the most dangerous threats to the stable state of the energy sector;
- forecast of the energy balance of the country at different time horizons;
- development of recommendations for the prevention of internal and external threats to the sustainable development of the energy sector;
- development and application of new mathematical models for analyzing the operation of electric power devices and installations under variable loads in transmission and conversion of energy, including from renewable sources;
- monitoring trends of development energy sectors and its functional components at the global and regional levels; provision of scientific advice to government organizations in the field of energy sector;
- organization of seminars, participation in the organization of national and international scientific conferences in the areas of ongoing work, support for work in the field of inventive activity and professional development of researchers;
- support of initiatives to carry out new research in promising areas of energy
